Hidden in plain sight on the chest of this shirt is a message written in the Adinkra alphabet — a 3,000 year old West African visual language that most people will never recognise.

The symbol at the centre of this design is AKOMA — the heart. In Adinkra culture the heart represents patience, tolerance, and the quiet strength that comes from leading with love rather than force. The encoded text beneath the design translates to one thing: The strongest thing in me is the softest.
